It’s rare that a sequel exceeds its predecessor, but this one did! No recaps, no needless character reintroductions, no wasted time! Right from the start we were graced with action and at the end a climax that felt suitably epic!

This is the Sistine Chapel of big, dumb shark movies. The first half is an entertaining mashup of multiple crazy ideas that I found compelling and even a little tense. Then the second half goes balls-to-the-wall in paying off all the ridiculous plot threads this film has, making for some truly gleeful moments of absurdity. The world is richer for having this film in it.
