A simple and fun movie! Not what I typically associate with a kaiju movie, but the creatures were well scaled to fit the genre! I quite enjoyed its blending giant monsters and old school whaling! My only criticism is that the plot felt rushed.

A rousing adventure that deftly balances between child-friendly entertainment and darker, more dramatic themes. The world-building is top notch, and it has spectacle and heart to spare, even if not all of the subplots wrap up equally.
