While not as sweeping or as glorious as the previous two movies, it certainly leaves me intruiged to see where it goes from here. I think, for now, I would call it a wild intermission episode; a brief, fantastical detour before the final movie.

It's deviated so much it almost feels like a completely new show, which is way more interesting than a retread, but also makes it feel a bit disconnected from the characters we've been following. It also dials back the kaiju, which is no bueno.
