While certainly not holding much of a candle to series like Evangelion, Gridman stands on its own with fun mech vs. kaiju action. The plot, in my opinion, wasn’t as well developed as it could have been though.

Overall I liked it. It's got a compelling mystery that kicks things off, and for the most part it pays off with some neat ideas, even if it ends up a little muddled. The kaiju fights have a retro, Saturday morning cartoon vibe to them, which is fun.
